The last time Cole invited me for lunch we had two girls along with us. Friday, Cole invited me for lunch again. I did not ask who would be sitting with us before I accepted the invitation. I arrived at the school about twenty minutes early. I needed to talk to the school principal about Katie starting pre school in August. After I had the low down on how the preschool department works, I waited for Cole's class to arrive. Twenty boys and eight girls filled into the lunch room with tons of energy. Cole was near the back of the line surrounded by lots of friends. He came to the table with Landon, Jaxon, and Hank. They all sat on the stools around me and talked about their day. I was shocked to hear such adult conversation at our table. They talked about how much work they had left on their papers, how they really did not like the green beans that were being served that day, and how they were looking forward to summer break. They all discussed where Skip was - at the mountains with his family for his birthday. They talked about where they would have their birthday party and who would be invited. I sat quietly and spoke when I felt like I needed to. Yes - the lunch with the four boys was wonderful. Great lunch and wonderful converstation.
Sometimes my kids can say the funnest words. This morning it was so foggy outside that it was difficult to see. Katie says, "I can't believe how froggy it is this morning." Cole agreed that it was very froggy. Katie sometimes says allergy for alert when playing battle with her brother. Cole says that he takes durteck (Zurteck) for allergies. They were singing, "The weather outside is nightfull, the sun is so delightful, since we have no place to go, Let it snow." Well, at least they say I love you just right.
